Thanks to Francesco Fullone, The Cosenza Exchange is proud to have his beautiful photographs of the church records from the frazione of Santa Maria La Castagna and the churches "Santa Maria della Neve" (built in 1823) and L'Annunziata. These records will allow the descendants of Montalto Uffugo, San Sisto and Bucita (now part of San Fili but during this time period part of Montalto) to go back even further to research their ancestry. These records could have been lost to time forever, had it not been for Cesare Ritacca who saved and preserved these precious records.
Extracted Baptisms
I have begun extracting the baptisms so you can view the images by name. Please note that the baptism books were written in Latin and some of the surnames were also changed to the Latin form of the name. Because of this, some of the surnames may be slightly different. As I extract, I will add the years available below.
